Weekly Update March 2nd-6th

Happy Monday!!!

First, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to the Family Engagement Committee for all of their hard work on the Black History Program.  It was by far the best one I have ever watched at school.  I had parents stopping me to tell me how great it was.  Also, thank you to Kate Cross for going the extra mile with Dezzy—she did a great job because of your investment.

We have a little less than 2 weeks until SPRING BREAK, not that we are counting or anything.  We know it is the end of the quarter and we have several things that have to get completed, but just take a deep breath, there is plenty of time.  If you are needing help, please let us know and we will do our best to assist you.

As we are entering our fourth quarter what can we do to finish this year strong?  I’m a football girl (ROLL TIDE) and I believe that games are won and lost in the fourth quarter.  So, with that in mind, what needs to be adjusted so our students end the year achieving the highest academic level possible, for them?  Do we need to look at submitting a child study?  Are there conversations that we need to have with parents during conferences about attendance and being on time for school?  Is each student in the best small group for them? Remember small groups are meant to be flexible, change them if you need.  We watch all of you work so hard every day, where can you put more of that academic ownership back on the students?

Have a great week and please let us know if there is anything, we can do to help support you.
